Back to Business Webcast: Overcoming Racial Disparities

Join the LI Business Council on Zoom from 11am-12pm on Tuesday, July 21st when our "Back to Business" series focuses on a subject that goes far beyond business.

Issues of race, and how we confront those issues, have immense social, economic and, most importantly, human consequences. The disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on communities of color is just one more example. Addressing the racial disparities that have persisted throughout our country’s history will require concerted, consistent and persistent efforts from all people of good will, but a good step to take right now is to step back and take time to listen to voices of people whose life experiences have been lived in the lingering shadow of these disparities.

Two exceptional community leaders, Lionel Chitty and Edna White, will join LIBC Executive Director Michael Harrison for this important webcast. Mr. Chitty is Executive Director of the Hicksville Chamber, as well as Executive Director of the Nassau County Office of Minority Affairs. Ms. White is President of the Gordon Heights Chamber as well as CEO of The Life Purpose Institute and Landlord Engagement Specialist for the LI Coalition for the Homeless.

The LI Business Council will devote multiple Back to Business programs to hearing from key community leaders on this critical topic. Please join us on July 21st and be part of the solution. Click here to register.
